Embedding on Your Website

If you already have a website for your league, office, or community, you can embed TheCommish.app directly into it. Your players can register, make picks, check standings, and view pick history without ever leaving your site.

Step 1: Add Your Domain

From your dashboard, go to Domains & Embed. Click Add Domain and enter the website address where you'll be embedding the widget (for example, yourleague.com).

You don't need to include https:// or a trailing slash — just the domain itself. We'll strip those automatically if you include them.

Each domain you add gets its own unique embed key, which is used to connect your embedded widget to your TheCommish.app pools.

Step 2: Assign Pools to Your Domain

Still on the Domains & Embed page, find your domain's card and use the Add Pool to This Domain dropdown to choose which of your pools should appear on that site. You can assign multiple pools to the same domain, and the same pool can be embedded on more than one domain if needed.

Step 3: Copy the Embed Code

Each domain card has an embed code block — a short snippet of code containing your unique embed key. Click Copy Code and paste it into your website wherever you want the pool widget to appear.

Your developer or website platform (Squarespace, WordPress, custom HTML, etc.) will need to be able to accept a snippet of JavaScript — this works the same way most third-party widgets (like a newsletter signup or live chat box) get added to a site.

What Players See

Once embedded, players visiting your website can, right from the widget:

Register or log in — a popup handles this without leaving your page
Join a pool — including joining multiple entries at once, if your pool allows it
Submit or change their pick for the week
View standings — including league/division tabs if your pool uses Leagues & Divisions
View their pick history
View Team Pick Popularity — a live look at what percentage of the pool picked each team this week and across the season

The widget is mobile-responsive, so it works the same whether your players visit from a phone or a desktop.

Regenerating Your Embed Key

If you ever need to regenerate your embed key (for example, if you suspect it's been shared somewhere it shouldn't be), click Regenerate Key on your domain card.

Important: Regenerating your key immediately invalidates the old one. You'll need to update the embed code snippet on your website with the new code right away, or the widget will stop working on your site until you do.

Removing a Domain

You can delete a domain from your Domains & Embed page at any time — but only if no pools are currently assigned to it. If you see the delete option disabled, remove the assigned pools first, then delete the domain.

A Note on White-Label Branding

Some commissioner plans include the option to remove the "Powered by TheCommish.app" badge from your embedded widget for a fully branded, white-label experience on your own domain. Check your plan details, or contact us at support@thecommish.app if you're interested in upgrading.
