Leagues and divisions let you build layered prizes into your pool — instead of one single winner taking everything, you can reward winners at multiple levels: a small prize for each division winner, a bigger prize for each league winner, and a top prize for the overall pool winner.
You can also use this structure to organize players into separate groups (for example, family in one division, coworkers in another) — but the main purpose is giving you more ways to award prizes and keep more players engaged longer, since someone can still "win their division" even after they're out of the running for the overall pool.

If you'd rather review and manually place new entries yourself instead of using automatic placement, enable "Pending Placement" — new entries will wait in a pending area until you assign them from the Structure Management page.
From Pool → Structure, you'll see a visual board of your leagues/divisions with entries you can drag and drop between them. This is also where you'll handle any entries sitting in "Pending Placement" if you've enabled that option.
